If peace were a mother, what would we ask of her? Above all, surely for protection, for mercy, for love. Only in peace can children thrive without fear and trauma. Here Angelika Bastians turns directly to this mother, as if in prayer. It has become unbearable for her that tears well up in so many children’s eyes. Great is the longing for relief, but small — given the world’s political situation — is the hope.
The author and singer, who knows how to convince with her vocal range and her expressive delivery, nevertheless places her trust in a more peaceful future. „Changing the world begins within yourself.“

I wrote the lyrics to this song more than 20 years ago. My dear friend Henk de Laat from Holland, living in Belgium, wrote the music, and Giovanni Costello from Umbria/Italy played the piano and the other sounds and turned this song into this very Special Mix.
For as long as I have been alive, there has always been a war somewhere, and by now people are at war everywhere.
Not only with weapons, drones and so on, but also in small ways – with words and deeds in everyday life, or with the manipulated obsession with beauty turned against oneself.
Through the media they see nothing but hatred, mistrust, an obsession with beauty … Fear is instilled from an early age.
Of course, as parents we give as much love, joy and security as we can.
But is it enough for everyone?

Of course I am not the first to say this – before me, Jesus, Buddha, Confucius and many others already put it into words.
Strange that, despite so many teachers, so many people still have not grasped it.
But I still have hope.
Hope that the plant „peace“ will grow into a tree so great that it fills the whole universe with the thought of peace.

It carries the meaning „love“, „affection“, „charity“, „compassion“, „kindness“ or „fondness“.
For me, ALOHA and MOTHER PEACE have the same meaning.
